All total.?You are getting ripped of!!! You can do this yourself in 5 minutes. Most VW radiators don't have drain plugs. There is some cost in refilling the system with genuine VW coolant, if too much is lost You MUST use VW coolant because the chemicals in it protect the expensive water pump and radiator tanks from self destruction. It is either blue, or red in color. It shouldn't cost $250 to install a good used radiator. Try a different shop for estimates. Is this the turbo 4 or 2.8 VR6?????How much should it cost to replace a radiator drain plug in a 2001 VW Passat? All total.?I have a 2003 Passat W8, and it seems like everything I do with my passat costs 20 times as much as a US car!!

All you should need is the plug and the seal...no more that $30

I found an entire radiator for your passat for just $177....are you sure they're just replacing the plug and not the entire radiator?

Have a look at this: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/search鈥?/a>

assuming you have the 1.8 Liter engine, its a very common engine thats available in every VW !! Something doesn't seem right...
