Is it possible to open the soft top on a 99 VW Cabrio GLS without putting the parking brake on?

I have a 99 VW Cabrio GLS that i got from my mom, now she has a Saab 95 convertible. On the VDub you have to put the parking brake on if you want to get the top down. Is there any tweak for the wiring to make it working without the parking brake on? For example, on the saab you can open it even in motion, you just have to go under 20mph.Is it possible to open the soft top on a 99 VW Cabrio GLS without putting the parking brake on?Usually the reason you have to apply a brake or put the car in park before you lower the top is for safety 1 and 2 to keep you from destroying the operational parts of the top while trying to lower it in motion. If it is at all possible to lower the roof in motion it should be in the instruction Manuel or check with you local VW dealer to see if there's any way to do so. I would venture to say not though. Side point your moms SAAB roof was more than likely designed to go down in motion under 20 mph and it proberly was right in the Manuel for the car, you may have just missed it.
