What is the best way to remove coolant accidentally poured into windshield washer reservoir of a 2000 VW Golf?

Close to a gallon was poured in. Is there a safe way to siphon it out (coolant being toxic) or will the tank need to be removed? What is the best way to remove coolant accidentally poured into windshield washer reservoir of a 2000 VW Golf?1) I have a 2000 Golf and you can't just use a baster or siphon because there is a debris screen at the bottom of the filler neck thing. Also the tank holds 3L of fluid and the tank it self is very tall/long so you should just bring it to the dealer and get it removed. Be sure to bring it to a VW dealer, not some ordinary garage, trust me I have stories. What is the best way to remove coolant accidentally poured into windshield washer reservoir of a 2000 VW Golf?
You should also be able to disconnect the hose at the bottom of the tank and drain it. Not sure if you have to remove the bumper to do it. You can search http://forums.vwvortex.com

What is the best way to remove coolant accidentally poured into windshield washer reservoir of a 2000 VW Golf? Two easy ways. First pull the tank out and drain it. Second get a long piece of hose from a parts store hook it to the pump and put it in a bucket, run the washer pump until its all drained. Then run some water through it to make sure you have it all out.
remove the resivor and put it back clean and put windshield washer fluid then you should be good. What is the best way to remove coolant accidentally poured into windshield washer reservoir of a 2000 VW Golf?well.... many ways... blah blah the safest way.. get a cheap hand pump and pump it out.. perhaps the hand gas pump will do..What is the best way to remove coolant accidentally poured into windshield washer reservoir of a 2000 VW Golf?
it is really simple. First DON'T pump it out using the windshiel wiper pump. The rubber lines for the wiper fluid may deteriorate. Also it may put too much strain on your wiper fluid pump since the coolant wil be thicker than the wiper fluid.

Go to your local parts store and ask for a hand operated syphon pump. It will let you SAFELY remove the coolant from the tank. I would not recomend putting that coolant in your coolant resivior though since it will be contaminated with wiper fluid.

And just to let you know for further help remember that your coolant tank looks like an odd ball shape in your engine bay.
Just suck it out with a turkey baster or something similiar. What is the best way to remove coolant accidentally poured into windshield washer reservoir of a 2000 VW Golf?
Coolant is not going to hurt anything. If there is not a drain plug, then just keep the wiper fluid button depressed until it is empty, and then re-fill it.
