What is the difference between a VW type one motor and a type two?

I am wondering if i can mount either of these fairly easily into a splitscrene bus.

thanks for your answers!!What is the difference between a VW type one motor and a type two?Type 1 usually refers to a Beetle

Type 2 refers to a Bus

As far as air cooled engines for a VW, the Bus or type 2 used the same engine as a Beetle or type 1 up to 1971

There was minor differences between the two, but for the most parts they were the same.

The engine compartment seals, cylinder tins and the air box are different.

I hope this helps. What is the difference between a VW type one motor and a type two?they are pretty simular but you cant interchange parts, but i would go with a type 1 engine because parts are easier to find and cheaper to buy.
