What can be done to get the trunk open on a 2003 VW Jetta?

I need to be able to open the trunk, and even the key wont open it. How can I get the trunk open? It seems like an electrical prob inside cuz the trunk release, windows etc do not work either. Could a fuse be the prob? What can be done to get the trunk open on a 2003 VW Jetta? On most newer cars there is a latch to pull the back of the back seat down and access your trunk. Go through there with a flash light and there should be an emergency cable or latch that allows people that may have gotten locked in the trunk to escape. It usually has a picture depicting what it is and how to use it hanging from it. OR , if your car does not have that then look for the lock mechanism from the inside and there should be a small slot you can fit a straight slotted screwdriver (or as we say down south, flat head screwdriver) and turn it to pop the trunk.

As far as your problem, Sounds like you have a fuse blown or the key less entry unit is bad. This is a box that receives the signal from your remote and controls all of the lock actuators. If you have the kind of car that has the feature that rolls down your windows with your remote then they too will stop working if this unit is bad. What can be done to get the trunk open on a 2003 VW Jetta? You could have an electrical problem, but that should not keep you out of the trunk with the key. Just to make sure - there are ignition keys %26amp; different trunk keys, you're using the right one ???

if the trunk key doesn't work, you better hope you can find the electrical problem, 'cause it's a locksmith after that. And there's no neat clean way to pop a trunk lock. They're called locks for a reason.
