How much should a timing belt replacement cost on a 2001 VW Beetle?

I have a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle 1,8 T in need of a new timing belt, water pump and tensioner. Parts and labor, how much should this maintenance cost me.?

* 2How much should a timing belt replacement cost on a 2001 VW Beetle? It takes about 3-4 hours to do this, if the timing belt did not break. Get a HEPU water pump, if possible. It is the best made water pump out there, comes with a metal impeller. Timing belt is about $50 (continental belt ONLY). There MAY be a Continental timing belt kit that does NOT include the pump. Check at many auto parts stores for availability. Also, use only genuine VW/AUDI COOLANT in this car!!! -Severe component break-down is likely. If you cannot find this kit, try 1-248-373-2300. This is a VW only parts store in Pontiac,Mi. Good luck!!How much should a timing belt replacement cost on a 2001 VW Beetle?I think the last one I did ran about $650 but if your timing belt broke while the motor was running you need much more than a belt and a water pump. Those are interference heads with very tight tolerances and you can plan on replacing valves and pistons if the belt broke with the motor runningHow much should a timing belt replacement cost on a 2001 VW Beetle?maybe like around 1,300 tops.
