I want to fit an iPod lead to my VW Golf mk5, which lead is the best?

I would really like one that can control the iPod from the stereo and display the tracks. I have an RCD510 unit, any ideas? The other option is to get rid of the stereo and replace it with an ipod compatible unit. Mine was for an 03 chevy tahoe but I'm sure they have vw's too, but def check them out.
