Are used VW Golfs in VW showrooms more expensive than from a private customer for what they are?

Warranty costs, Overheads for showroom, staff wages, reassurance of dealer back up should the car be cloned/stolen or finance outstanding.

Private sales are sold as seen and if something goes wrong the buyer foots the bill. Are used VW Golfs in VW showrooms more expensive than from a private customer for what they are?Cars sold by the dealers that sell themnew are always more expensive than private ones. For the extra money you get the protection of the sale of goods act and other regs concerning the sale which all but totally do not apply when buying private.

Wherever you buy a car from the sale price private some time later is not affected so the difference and so the depreciation will be greater when buying from a dealer to sell privately later as compared to buying and selling privately.

Remember that private cars are sold as seem and can go badly wrong just after purchase and you have no comeback on the seller. Are used VW Golfs in VW showrooms more expensive than from a private customer for what they are?Probably might be a bit dearer , from a decent dealer your car will probably be checked over and serviced and come with a warranty . A private seller is not likely to give you the same and you have no come back if there are major problems ,,,, There are guideline prices for different models and age of car also allowing for condition and mileage , The garage will probably go to the top end whereas a private seller might be a bit cheaper so as to achieve a quick sale ,
