Similar to Jetta but without a trunk. I love the hatchback style. I am a bit prejudiced because I own a 2006 GTI. Best car I've ever owned!
However, if you dont like the hatchback style, then definately get a Jetta.
My wife has a 2005 Jetta with 76k super-reliable , fun filled miles on it. This car has never let us down.
Yes VWs may seem to cost a bit more , but they generally offer more safety features. For example, they weigh more than the average economy car because of the use of more robust materials; thicker guage steel, wider tires, larger disc rotors, full size spare,etc.
Car magazines are always reporting on how VW interiors set the benchmark; the quality and materials used can be found in cars costing $1000s more.
Plus, there is a good side to the slightly higher purchase price. When you decide to sell it, you get a high re-sale too!
