What is the lower left light in an old VW speedometer for?

I just replaced the started in my volkswagen type 2 pick up truck, i think it is a 59. So when everything was all hooked up there was a little orange light on in the speedometer, but the keys were not in the ignition. The light is on the left side of the speedometer at the bottom. When i turned the truck on the light turn off and a green light turned on that was on the right side. I just want to know what the light means? Thank you? What is the lower left light in an old VW speedometer for?it is the generator light you need to look at a wiring scamatic and find out whare the wire origonaly goes. or you need to put a belt on the pully and dont drive it with out one. it means the belt is missing and needs to be replaced. sounds like the wires are bad. What is the lower left light in an old VW speedometer for?One was for oil pressure (on when no or low oil pressure) the other was the generator light, if I remember correctly. The top center blue light was the high beam indicator.
