How much does it cost to replace a 2001 VW Beetle key?

I locked my key inside the car and the battery is now dead so using a slim jim to unlock it won't work. I called the dealership to ask how much a spare will cost, but they're closed today. Does anyone have an idea about how much this will cost? And is it possible to just get a spare that isn't the switchblade kind? Those are $250 and I really can't afford another one of those. How much does it cost to replace a 2001 VW Beetle key?would b cheaper to call a locksmith to get u into ur car......should run about 75 bucks...maybe more cas its sunday........and yes the only "dealer" key u can get will cost u 250........

in the future would suggest finding u a key blank on ebay and having it cut to fit ur locks.....because it won't have a chip in it it wont b able to start ur car but will b able to open ur door .......good luckHow much does it cost to replace a 2001 VW Beetle key?Call a road side service or a locksmith to come out.
