What size rims would fit really flush on a 70 vw bug?

I wanted to buy some rims for my 1970 bug but I dont know what size i should get. The car is lowered now and I wanted to put 17's on it but I wasnt sure if it would be a good size or not. What size rims would fit really flush on a 70 vw bug?It will likely not look as great as you picture it in your mind. Huge rims on a tiny car make it look more awkward then cool. In addition, the shift in weight and suspension is not likely to help the torsion rods that support the rear of the car.,

You may want to focus, instead, on some of the existing and available rims.

EMPI made some mag rims that are sought after (and expensive) and look pretty damn good. You can also get some dressed chrome wheels that accent the car rather then compete with it.

just a few thoughts.... either way, good luck

.What size rims would fit really flush on a 70 vw bug?Unless you get adapters (if they still make them) then you are stuck with only a few options for rims that fit %26amp; large rims are not one of the options, sorry :{What size rims would fit really flush on a 70 vw bug?You won't get them for VW. Just because it has 4 holes does not mean it will fit all 4 bolt cars...as the spacings are all different. One could be 2" space, another make of car 2 1/2" and another make 3". The auto companies don't talk to each other. Ford rims are for Ford. GM for GM Dodge for Dodge Vw for VW Toyota for Toyota, Nissan for Nissan, Mazda for Mazda.(sometimes Mazda and Ford match)

Stock VW rims are 15 for bug. If you want something different you need to bolt on an adapter plate for another wheel size.
