How much should it cost to replace two engine mounts on a VW Passat?

I have a 2003 Passat with 60,000 miles on it. During its 60K mile service, I was told that it needs three engine mounts replaced. I was also told it will cost about $900 to do the job. That seems outrageously expensive to me, but I don't know. Any good samaritan out there want to tell me if I'm about to be ripped off?How much should it cost to replace two engine mounts on a VW Passat? It is expensive, no doubt. To best compare the price in your area, get a breakdown of the price from the shop that gave you the quote. How much for parts and how much for labor? Call any auto parts store and get a price on the mounts. Then call another shop for a price on the labor.

That's the easiest way to see if you're paying too much.

VW's are very expensive to maintain and repair. I wouldn't be surprised if this quote was in line with what others would charge. I do find it a bit unusual that all the mounts need to be replaced though. How much should it cost to replace two engine mounts on a VW Passat?Yea you are my friend blew up his motor and found out he needed motor mounts he is getting them for 90 bucks a mount and the guy is charging 300 for labor... im not sure about a passat but on a honda i can pull the motor in about 30 mintues give or take... read up on some do it yourself if you have the right tools..
