How much does a used VW Bug cost?

In a few years, I'll be able to buy a car and I really want a blue VW Bug. But I can't find out how much they cost so I can start saving up.

And I really think a slightly used one is better then a new one. I mean not better, but easier on the wallet.

1) VW Bugs were made up until the 1970's. The new beetles are not the classic bugs. As such there are no new bugs.



2) A top end classic VW bug in less then showroom shape but better then a daily driver, will run between $3k and $5k in the US.



3) Regardless of which car you want to buy, most people, when buying one, forget to factor in the mandatory insurance. After a few years the insurance may actually cost more then the car, so, whatever car you are going to buy, price out the insurance first (also).
