Prices for repairs and such. How much are repairs on say a VW jetta(foriegn car) compared to like a ford focus? It is about the same, most problems that occur to both vehicles are mostly electrical .They both have complex wiring systems which makes them difficult to diagnose. How much are repairs on say a VW jetta(foriegn car) compared to like a ford focus? If you have ever had a Jetta you would know that the repair bills are wack! Its foreign and you can only take the to special places to have them fixed. Going to a dealers ship to fix is even worse. I've never owned a ford but I am looking at them, and I would assume that its much cheaper.

How much are repairs on say a VW jetta(foriegn car) compared to like a ford focus?Repair costs are not much different between shops - the cost of parts is where the difference is. Especially for the oddball parts, like a hood release lever latch handle or a muffler bearing lube nipple. But, I usually bypass the high cost for a new one when I can find one in a salvage yard such as Pic Your Part. A starter is a starter as far as they are concerned. All costs the same. If your car is not brand new, why get new parts? Especially for things that don't normally break. How much are repairs on say a VW jetta(foriegn car) compared to like a ford focus?
Not true. VW repairs are pricey. Mostly because of the foreign shipping for parts. My glove compartment latch broke. 100 bucks for a new one not including installation.
