How do I remove the rear seat backrest in a 1973 VW Beetle?

The rear backrest folds down somehow but I can't seem to figure it out. I need to remove the seat to replace the seat cover.How do I remove the rear seat backrest in a 1973 VW Beetle?There should be a couple of clips that hold the backrest in place. You may just have to pull on it to disconnect them. I have a '73 Super Beetle and I had the entire interior out of the car and it didn't require any special tools. I don't remember 100% exactly where the fasteners are but I think I recall them being in the top corner on each side. I sold it 16 years ago and I've had dozens of cars since then, so I'm a little foggy about that part of the overhaul.
