Will an old style VW camper van fit into a standard single garage?

I'm thinking of getting one, I'm just concerned it may be too high for my garage. Can anyone advise. Bum and joke answers as always welcome along with the correct answer! Will an old style VW camper van fit into a standard single garage?once it falls apart yes,,,:)Will an old style VW camper van fit into a standard single garage?
No worries, my son - in- law rebuilt one in hisWill an old style VW camper van fit into a standard single garage?A standard size garage door opening is 7ft, and if you have an overhead door, clearance will be a few inches less than that... about 6ft. 8inches or so...

This will just barely clear the old VW camper van. It is close enough to be very concerned.

Variables:

The cement floor/drive on your garage poured an inch too high; the door installed a little lower.

The VW torsion bar suspension cranked up a bit higher than stock, or a larger tire size.

SOLUTION:

Make good measurements of your garage clearance, and bring a tape measure with you on the test drive. If buying online, sight unseen, ask the seller for the tallest measurement of the van.

Good luck!
How about you use a measuring Tape to figure it out......Will an old style VW camper van fit into a standard single garage?ya it should do,my brother has one and its fits in a standard sized single garage

I think so, depending on roof racks etc. Our's has a pop up roof and that fits ok, depends how good you are at parking too of course.
I had one that got parked in 4 different garages with no problems. Same for limited entry parking lots.

Easily
Your best bet is to measure the garage, I once lived in a house built in the 1930s, the garage was only really suitable for an Austin 7 or something like. Your question really is "How Long Is a Piece of String". When I lived in the 60s house my Type 2 went into the garage but you could not get in and out through the front doors, had to use the sliding door. Good luck with it, Cheers, Gizz.
