Where can i get a old VW Bug that runs for a good price?

i need a VW Bug that runs and is in pretty good condition, but at the same time i dont want to pay an arm and a leg for one that has been restored...I would like origional equipment on the vehicle...by the way i live in VA, but i am willing to travel a couple of hundred miles to get oneWhere can i get a old VW Bug that runs for a good price?Mexico is the answer. The Volkswagen plant in Puebla, was the last to produce the beetle, and the very last one came out in 2002, in a special edition version.

Even if you buy any other model year, it will be in very good condition and will be fuel injected with catalytic converter.

Parts are widely available in Mexico and very cheap, so those cars are usually in very good conditions.

Long trip, but it's worth it if you want a collector's car. Mexico even exported this last cars to Germany as custom orders, and were pretty expensive.Where can i get a old VW Bug that runs for a good price?

Seriously though, they were making them in Brazil for the South/Central American market long after they stopped making them in Germany. So take a Mexican vacation and come home with a bug.

why would you want a hitler-mobile?Where can i get a old VW Bug that runs for a good price? Most of the time you have to tool it up yourself, sometimes you have to cannibalize parts to keep it stock. It's doubtful you can find one that's all ready to go in great condition. Get the book for the year of the one you buy so you can do the repairs yourself.

Go to VW's stores, like Bugformance. They have sales walls of cars for sale. Also you can asks around maybe they might know someone who is selling one.
You might want to check into some of the VW collector groups on the web. My brother has had several, the most he had at one time I believe was five. A "Thing," A Carmengia, A Superbeetle, A Vanagan and a rare VW pick-up.

There are plenty of VW clubs/organization all over the country. Usually caled VW clubs.Where can i get a old VW Bug that runs for a good price?
Ever been to Fidel Castros CUBA ???????????????????????

Can get them dime a dozen oldies there.................
I'm in WV. I got my Beetle in 98. I honestly lucked out. The guy was going to jail and needed money for a lawyer so I only paid $1300. Bugs are getting extremely rare. The ppl that have them won't come off them and the ones that will want lots of money. I"m looking for a bus with no luck. I hope you find what your looking for
You should check out online classifieds listings like: Yahoo! Classifieds (classifieds.yahoo.com) or Craigslist (www.craigslist.org).

You could also check the local classifieds sections of the papers. A few of them are now on the internet too, like SF gate (http://autos.sfgate.com/Search.Autos.byM鈥?/a>
in the barren fields of the former soviet bloc, german army issue! all original eqip. buy a few cheap and piece a complete one!,,,, watch out for live shells though.good luck
thesamba.com and ebay.com(check the car out before you bid) are the places to look, with thesamba.com being your best bet. As well it's still summer to see if your local vw club is doing a show, there usual a couple for sale at every show.

My advise would also be to make sure you read up on what to look for when getting a bug, before you buy one. Basicly know the problem spots to look for, what your wants are, etc. As well pay the extra for the car that's solid, original, what your looking for and not just one that's cheap, not worth the money and headaches in the long run. Good Luck

And to the advice above: Most likely the mexican bug he would be able to find wouldn't meet us spec allowing them to be simple imported. These cars(as a whole) are not rare or hard to find if you know where to look. I currently own a 65 bug and a 71 bus, and would have many more if money and gf would allow it. It would be pointless to buy a cheap bug in a third world location if it'll cost you thousands to get it back to the states.
VWvortex.com always has a bunch for sale on the forums from very knowledgeable people. Youll find good condition ones owned by people that care about them on there. i HIGHLY suggest taking a look at it in person before buying a car though simply for safetys sake.
Try the sites below as they have all kinds of bugs in you neck of the woods. Good Luck!!
WWW.TheSamba.com.........This site has it all, cars parts and etc. Go to classifieds and then click on Search, highlight the car or part your looking for and put in Zip Code and Miles if you want one that is near you. Lots of ways to navigate on the Homepage, Check it out, you will like it.......Hope this Helps.
