My blue coolant light comes on in my VW Beetle?

I just bought a 2001 VW New Beetle; I noticed that when I first turn my car on in the morning or after work to go home, the blue coolant light comes on and stays on for a few miles then turns off. Is this something I need to worry about or this normal? I never had a VW before, so, I am not sure what is normal and what needs attention.My blue coolant light comes on in my VW Beetle?the blue light in normal, its telling you the car is not fully warmed up.should go out within a few miles.

It tells you your coolant is cold. That is all it means.. It then shuts off as the coolant heats up. A piece of uselessness in computer information.
