My engine light did not go on and it will turn over. What should I do.I accidently filled my diesel VW Golf with regular gas I drove it about 4 miles and then it stopped running?I'm suprised it did not raise yor idle.
Yet thus partially is the reason why they combust, is pressure not so much spark
U may be looking at draining the fuel (tank)system (with fuel filter) and purging it with desiel .
Desiles run on hi- compression as apart of there ignition process.
Pressure builds heat ...........Add a little spark (glow plug) and bang creation.
Drain the tank , replace the fuel filter , and restart (re-suck) the fuel system. It may take a while of cranking to reestablish proper fuel pressure.
Other then that , You may need a mechanicI accidently filled my diesel VW Golf with regular gas I drove it about 4 miles and then it stopped running?
bust out the mastercardI accidently filled my diesel VW Golf with regular gas I drove it about 4 miles and then it stopped running? All you need to do is drain all the gas out of the tank the lines and filter fill with tank and filter diesel and crank till it starts. Or you can take it to the garage and have them make an *** out of youI accidently filled my diesel VW Golf with regular gas I drove it about 4 miles and then it stopped running?
Unfortunately the Petrol will almost certainly have caused irreparable internal damage to your diesel pump and/or injectors.
It really depends on the year of your car as to how expensive it will be, but generally , the later the car the dearer the repair bill.
It's always worth trying (and any good garage will), draining the tank and replacing the filters - then priming the system with fresh diesel to try starting it, sometimes, just sometimes it will run long enough for you to sell it pronto!
The Diesel fuel lubricates the pump and injectors as it is pushed through them, Petrol does not have the lubricating qualities of diesel (because diesel is an oil in itself) and therefore internal components dry out and become damaged and seals are distorted and degraded.
The petrol is unlikely to have damaged the inlet gaskets and the ignition is by compression only, the glow plugs only help the engine to start from cold by pre-heating the combustion chamber.I accidently filled my diesel VW Golf with regular gas I drove it about 4 miles and then it stopped running?get it towed to a mechanic.I accidently filled my diesel VW Golf with regular gas I drove it about 4 miles and then it stopped running?
wellllllll,i think that your car is in some serious trouble.i've read in a car book that if you put petrol in a diesel engine the petrol will strip the natural lube in diesel from the engine and destroy all the seals in your inlet manifold an engine.
